One dies as boat capsizes in Machakos

A man died after a boat capsized at Masinga dam in Kakuku area, Machakos County, on Saturday evening.

The man, who was with a colleague in the boat when it capsized, had gone into the waters without the right apparatus required to peddle the boat, hence ended up using a rod instead.

His colleague disappeared into the bush soon after being rescued and his whereabouts are yet to be known.

Ekalakala/Ikatini Ward MCA Stephen Mwanthi Nzue led the rescue operation to retrieve the body of the deceased as well as to remove the boat from the waters.
