One killed, 5 injured in car crash after tyre burst on Kibwezi-Kitui road

One person died and 5 others were seriously injured in a car accident at Kisayani on the Kibwezi-Kitui Road.

Makueni Police boss Joseph Ole Napeiyan said a Toyota Voxy vehicle that was headed to Kibwezi from Kitui had a tyre burst.

The driver lost control causing the vehicle to veer off the road and roll several times.

One of the passengers died instantly while another sustained serious head injuries; four others were slightly hurt.

Those injured are currently receiving treatment at Kibwezi sub-county hospital.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Makindu sub-county hospital.
