One man, two robberies: US police hunt for ‘Gor Mahia’ bank robber

A bespectacled man clad in a Gor Mahia jersey continues to evade capture after successfully robbing the same bank, exactly the same way, twice!

The man, whose identity is yet to be known, has come into the radar of Detectives from Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division – after robbing a PNC Bank in Wheaton, United States, both in 2017 and 2018.

According to a statement posted on the police department’s website in regards to the November 14, 2017, robbery, “the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank. The suspect was last seen on foot in the area of the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road.”

In what seems to be the exact replica of his 2017 robbery, the suspect, yet again, robbed the bank on April 13, 2018.

According to investigations by the detectives, as posted on their website, “the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.  The suspect was last seen on foot in the area of the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road.”

The detectives have posted surveillance photos of the suspect, one showing him in a jersey of Kenya Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia.

A reward of $10,000 (Ksh.1,002,505) on either robberies has also been placed for any information leading to the arrest of the man.
