OPINION: Govt Should Seize Weston Hotel
The Government should seize the Weston Hotel as well as the land on which it stands because there is invaluable circumstantial evidence to prove that the land was cunningly grabbed from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
The current owners of Weston Hotel are the same individuals who came up with the non-existent shell companies to whom the KCAA Land was purportedly allocated, then subsequently ‘bought’ by the same individuals in the ‘open market’.
The National Land Commission must, therefore, exercise its’ constitutional mandate by seizing the property and reverting it to the Kenyan public.
No compensation is desirable in this case since the grabbers and the purported purchasers of the said land are one and the same people.
Equally, no benefit should accrue to anybody out of a fraudulent transaction at the expense of the public.
Above all, Deputy President William Ruto having publicly stated that he has interests in the Weston Hotel now owes Kenyans a public explanation as to how this fraud was meticulously executed, followed by a commensurate apology.
Subsequently, if I were the Director of Public Prosecutions,I would have some work to do on this issue.
