Orengo, Muthama Grilled by Anti Graft Detectives

EACC, in its graft list of shame, alleges that Orengo – during his tenure as the Minister for Lands – irregularly sold a public land in Westlands, Nairobi and allegedly received a five million shillings bribe.

Suspended Labor CS  Kazungu Kambi is also being questioned by the anti-graft detectives over allegations that he was involved in corrupt dealings at National Social Security Fund (NSSF).

Transport Principal Secretary Nduva Muli is also expected to answer questions over his alleged irregular sale of Kenya Railways properties across the country and biased award of tenders for construction of the Standard Gauge Railway.

175 leaders were named in the EACC dossier.

Elected leaders defy the step-aside directive

Two weeks after they were named in a list tabled by the President in parliament forcing public officers named in the graft list to step aside, the anti-graft body has lined up the individuals for questioning of the allegations.

The named officials have continued to honor invitations by the integrity centre where investigations are being conducted.

The investigations continue with  44 days before the expiry of a 60 day period given by President Kenyatta.

All cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries and parastal chiefs adversely mentioned by the EACC list have stepped aside.

However, elected leaders have remained in office save for Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko who was granted leave not to attend senate sittings until the investigations are concluded.
