Orphaned boys dream comes true

A new dawn has come for Ian Kiprono, an orphaned boy from Koibatek in Baringo who had no way to pay his secondary school fees until well wishers came to his aid.

Kiprono who is now a proud student of Kapsabet Boys High School in Nandi came to the limelight after a story aired on Citizen TV about his plight with his sheer determination to succeed against all odds inspiring many to come to his aid.

Kiprono had recorded an impeccable performance in his KCPE exam, scoring 417 marks out of the possible 500 marks.

“I worked hard because I knew all was not well at home. My main aim was always to come back and build a decent house and make my home a better place,” Kiprono had earlier told Citizen TV.

Kiprono was orphaned at infancy leaving him under the care of his aunt.

“Kiprono was orphaned when he was only 7 months old but God has helped us and helped him to go through his primary school eventually doing so well in his final exam.” said Roselyn Chemirmir, Kiprono’s aunt

Accompanied by his guardians, Kiprono said he was happy to be at the school and that he was on course to pursuing his dream to be an Electrical Engineer.

Among those present was Nandi Hills legislator Alfred Keter who said that area leaders led by the Deputy President William Ruto have committed to build Kiprono’s family a decent shelter.
