Over 100 road projects in Kisumu suspended

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has put on hold all county road projects.

Close to 115 road projects are set to be affected following the order that the Governor said is due to the ongoing heavy rains.

According to him, the rains have made the work untenable by causing constant breakage of machines.

The Governor added that this would compromise the overall quality of roads since most of the sites are now inaccessible.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms on Tuesday, Prof. Nyong’o maintained that the suspension of the projects would be in force until the rains subside.

Heavy rains have hit the country for the past two months leading to floods and subsequent displacement of thousands of people.
