Over 100 students contact Cholera in Vihiga
At least 100 students at Nyang’ori Boys in Hamisi Sub County are receiving treatment following an outbreak of Cholera in the school.
According to Vihiga County Director of Health, Quido Ahinduka, the government received news of the outbreak Tuesday.
At least 25 students were admitted Tuesday at the Tigoi Health Centre.
Five of the students have been admitted at the school’s health facility.
The health officer said they have now quarantined the students in a bid to avert further spread of the disease.
Lack of water and proper sanitation have been linked to the cholera outbreak.
