Over 1,000 Kenyans apply for eight PSC jobs, half with Masters Degrees

Over 1,000 Kenyans have applied for eight Public Service Commission (PSC) jobs that were advertised recently.

Out of all the applicants, 583 have Masters Degree qualifications.

However, only 56 have been shortlisted for the positions of vice-chairperson and members of the PSC.

The list seen by Citizen Digital shows that Betty Nyabuto, former deputy CEO at the Independent Boundaries Election Commission, is among those shortlisted for the PSC Vice Chair slot.

The announcement invited suitably qualified persons to apply for the positions vide Kenya Gazette Notice No. 9936.

Advertisements carried in some local dailies were published on September 28, 2018.

Prior to the advert, President Uhuru had gazetted a notice appointing a selection panel of seven people that would vet the applicants.

The panel published the names of those shortlisted for the various positions together with their qualifications on the PSC website www.publicservice.go.ke and at the Government printer.

The candidates are expected to attend an interview at Harambee House, nairobi.

Documents expected from them include clearance certificates from the Credit Reference Bureau, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), among others.
