Over 150,000 KCPE candidates to miss Form One places

Primary schools in the country will officially receive their 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results beginning today (Tuesday, December 13), says Kenya National Examinations Council CEO, Mercy Karogo.

The KCPE 2016 results for schools will be released to county directors of education for transmission to respective schools.

The results will also be available on Ministry of Education website (www.education.go.ke) for schools and candidates to print out.

Students can also send their index numbers to 20042 to know the secondary schools they have been selected to join.

The ministry observes letters of admission are limited to just one copy.

Ms Karogo has advised the 2016 KCPE candidates and their guardians, who have queries with their results, to call the toll free line 0800-721477 or 0800221350.

KNEC also revealed that 24,795 KCPE 2016 candidates have been selected to join national secondary schools.

Slightly over 65, 000 candidates have been selected to join extra county schools, while 133, 785 have been selected for county schools.

492, 576 KCPE candidates have been selected to join sub-county secondary schools.

150,720 others will miss Form One places as transition rate rises to 84 percent.
