Over 200 Nambale students to re-take KCSE exams

The 242 Nambale High School students whose exams were cancelled will re-sit this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

The announcement was made by the Board of Management during a stakeholders meeting at the school.

“We do not want the students to suffer now or in the future thus the decision to have them re-take the exams,” said the board.

The board also questioned how the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) reached the decision to cancel the exams of the 242 candidates from the school out of 245 who sat the test.

The 2015 exam was characterized by massive irregularities, something that has seen the KNEC board disbanded.

Last week, Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i cautioned school heads and boards of management that they will be held accountable for exam irregularities in their schools.
