Panic as female body parts are found in Nyamira

Police officers in Nyamira County are investigating an incident where female body parts were found in Charachani area.

The parts which include the chest, intestines and a leg were found scattered in the area causing panic among the residents.

Area police boss Rico Ngare said there was a probability that the killers may have committed the heinous act elsewhere before dumping the body parts in the area.

“Other than the body parts, there was also a panty and bra that were found in the area,” said Ngare.

He called on family members to report to the station and identify the body adding that investigations are already underway to apprehend the culprits.

The body parts have been taken to Nyamira General Hospital mortuary.

The incident comes a day after four prostitutes were killed and skinned by a suspected serial killer in Nakuru.

Though details of the incident remain scanty, police have linked it to the death of three more prostitutes last week, who were killed in a similar manner.

Drowned school body found

Meanwhile, the body of a 9-year-old class five pupil at Kithimani Primary School who had drowned Sunday evening in Yatta Sub County has been retrieved.

Area assistant chief Elijah Katulu said that the body was retrieved 500 metres downstream Monday morning by area residents.

The boy is said to have gone to the river with his friends to take a bath when he slipped and fell into the river with efforts to rescue him proving futile.
