Panic as suspected bomb found outside Kirinyaga church

There is panic at Kianyaga Catholic Church in Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County, after a device suspected to be an explosive was found at the church’s entrance.

Police led by Gichugu OCPD Mohammed Huka and Gichugu DCIO Susan Karuri are at the scene as they await bomb experts from Nyeri to ascertain the nature of the suspicious device.

“The bomb experts are coming from Nyeri and will analyze the device to find out if it is indeed a bomb. We will continue to ensure security to all residents,” Susan Karuri said.

Worshipers have been forced to hold the Sunday service outside the church compound until the device is dismantled by the experts.
