Panyako kicks out nurses union chairman

The Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) has kicked out Chairman John Biiy.

In a paid notice complete with his picture published in a local daily on Monday, KNUN says; “Members of the Public, Media, Senate, Parliament, Financial Institutions, the Government and all our partners are hereby informed that the above person of ID NO: 10090176 by name John K Biiy is no longer an official of Kenya National Union of Nurses.”

The notice, signed by Secretary General Seth Panyako, further stated that “The union shall not take responsibility on any action featured by him.”

This new development, coming barely a week after Biiy accused Panyako of selling a union vehicle.

The embattled chairman had on May 10 written to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for the repossession of a union vehicle allegedly sold by Panyako for use as exhibit in court.

In a letter from Biiy through his lawyers, M’njau and Mageto Advocates and commissioners for oaths, the vehicle – KBV 269 N – was fraudulently, secretly and unlawfully disposed off on January 9, 2018, by one Seth Ambusini Sindano Panyako, who is the secretary general of the union, using his second wife contrary to union constitution.

Biiy had further accused Panyako of misuse of yet another union vehicle – Toyota Prado KCC 757 R – during the past election campaigns when he (Panyako) was seeking an elective seat.
