Parents demand probe into sodomy claims at Maseno School
Kisumu County Parents’ Association has compelled Ministry of Education to conduct speedy investigations into allegations of rampant sodomy at Maseno School.
Speaking to Citizen Digital in Kisumu, the parents’ association chairman for Kisumu Branch, Edwin Ndege, condemned the claims, adding that security personnel in the county should step in to get to the bottom of the issue.
The chairman noted that the allegations were serious, adding that they cannot be ignored.
Mr Ndege blamed the school administration for laxity regarding the sodomy claims and allegations by students that senior students are committing the offences.
His remarks came a day after Radio Ramogi highlighted the plight of a Form one student at Maseno School who was withdrawn by his guardian after the 16-year-old boy reported to Maseno Police Station that he had been sodomized at the school last week.
However, police and the education boss in the county have vowed to launch a proper probe into the matter even as the school principal, Mr Paul Otula, continues to deny the allegations.
