Parliament To Resume Sittings On Tuesday

Top on the parliamentary agenda are debates on the Division of Revenue Bill 2014, which will determine resources allocated to the counties.

The National Treasury in this year’s budget policy, had proposed 221 billion shillings to be remitted to the county government.

The proposal was later revised to 218 billion by the parliamentary budgetary committee.

Commission on Revenue Allocation Chair Micah Cheserem has however warned counties saying that they will be stranded in executing their roles if the figure is not raised to 238 billion.

This comes even as governors have also been pushing for more funds.
