Passengers Stranded At JKIA As Pilots Go Slow Continue

The delays and cancellations, according to Kenya Airways communications officer, have been occasioned by the ongoing go-slow by the pilots.

The passengers said that the trend is now becoming common with some of them experiencing this for the second and third time in a row.

The passengers, most of them business persons, have lamented over huge losses occasioned by the situation at Kenya airways.

The go slow follows a decision by the Kenya Airline Pilots Association to rally its members after the airline set home ten pilots before their retirement age.

In its defence, KQ said that the move was part of an ongoing fleet modernization exercise adding that it was retiring the pilots according to provisions of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) it signed with the union.

The national carrier now says it is doing everything to salvage the situation.
