Pastor in Kilungu accused of rape, rescued from angry mob

An ACK pastor escaped death by a whisker after police rescued him from an angry mob who were baying for his blood.

The incident occurred on Monday at Kyakatoni, Kilungu Sub-county.

The pastor is alleged to have defiled a 13-year-old girl after the church service.

The victim is in Class Six at a local primary school.

Confirming the incident, area Chief Christopher Ngundo said the 53-year-old suspect is believed to have committed the offence within the church premises.

Apparently he also tried to commit suicide after faithfuls discovered what had happened.

The suspect has since been arrested and is in custody at the Kilome Police Station pending arraignment.
