Pastor Nganga to be charged, DPP
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has said that he believes there is enough evidence to charge controversial Televangelist Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a .
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Sunday, the DPP stated that Ng’ang’a will be charged in court with causing the death of Mercy Njeri through dangerous driving.
Tobiko also ensured that a Witness Protection Agency is brought on board to ensure safety of the witnesses.
Tobiko’s statement comes after Kenyans raised concerns on how investigations into the matter were being conducted.
The file was originally handed over to the DPP on Monday August 10, 2015 and his office formed a team to investigate the matter.
The office of the DPP says it has so far interrogated six additional witnesses and recommends that six police officers who arrived at the scene of the accident and were allegedly compromised be disciplined.
Appearing on Citizen TV last week, the televangelist distanced himself from allegations that he was behind the fatal accident.
