Pastor who pleaded guilty to defiling, impregnating his two teenage daughters to be sentenced next week

A pastor in Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County who pleaded guilty to defiling and impregnating his two teenage daughters has been convicted and is set to sentenced next week.

The 51-year-old pastor admitted to the charges despite being warned that he could serve life imprisonment if found guilty of the offence.

The pastor blamed the devil for his offences and asked for forgiveness from his children and the court.

Senior Principal Magistrate Anthony Mwicigi said the pastor had been convicted on his own admissions of guilt and ordered that the judgment against the pastor be conducted on January 14, 2021.

The Akorino pastor on January 5 this year pleaded guilty to defiling and impregnating his two teenage daughters aged 14 and 16 years before Senior Principal Magistrate Antony Mwicigi at the Baricho Law Courts.

He was remanded until Thursday to allow the prosecution get the girls’ birth certificates to verify their age.

According to the charge sheet, the suspect is believed to have committed the first offence on diverse dates between 1st to 30th of June, 2019 and the second offence was committed between 1st to 31st of August, 2020 in Kianyakiru village in Ndia Constituency.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday in Mbeere South from his hideout after police early last month launched an operation to arrest him.
