Pastors unite to preach peace in Samburu

A group of pastors from Samburu County are moving from village to village encouraging the residents to embrace peace.

Maralal Apostolic Church Bishop Bosco Lekisaat said the pastors have already spread the peace message in Samburu East, Samburu Central and Samburu North constituencies.

“God created the world and brought us together. We should accommodate each other and share our resources,” Bishop Lesikaat said.

He urged the Samburu and Turkana communities to put aside their differences and practice co-existence, adding that the election period is short and Kenyans will revert to their normal lives once they cast their ballot.

“Our mission to preach peace. As citizens we have a duty to embrace political tolerance and we urge Kenyans to refrain from violence and any form of heckling like we saw happen in Baringo, Nairobi and Kisumu counties,” he said.

“Let us express our democratic right by casting our ballot. I want to appeal to pastoralists from Turkana, Samburu and Pokot to shun cattle rustling as it is derailing development in the country,” Bishop Lesikaat said.
