Award winning teacher Peter Tabichi on Thursday addressed London’s renown Science Museum.

In a session attended by Great Britain’s top teachers, Tabichi talked about the different ways teachers could make sciences more interesting for students.

Tabichi told those present how he had to engage not just the students but also their parents on the importance of learning sciences, a move he said helped his students perform very well in a school that was chronically short of resources.

The teacher who won the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher prize 2019 said that he was greatly inspired by the exhibition that he saw at the Science museum, comparing it to the awe of his students when he explains natural phenomena.

”Peter also discussed how he developed his school’s Science Club,”  a source present at the session said.

Tabichi who was visiting the center for the first time, stated that he felt honored by the invitation to the brain storming session.

He related that Africa in future would be able to produce internationally recognized scientists if they get the right education, scientists who would find solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

In expressing appreciation for Tabichi’s attendance, the Science Museum’s group Director of learning Susan Raikes stated that the organization was pleased to host the teacher.

I’m sure the teachers taking part in the session were fascinated to hear about  Peter’s innovative teaching methods in an under resourced school.” Raikes said.

The teacher in his London tour  also visited the Royal Society, a fellowship of scientists and the Royal overseas league where it is said that he would meet with Sir Anthony Seldon, a renowned British scholar.
