Petrol users to pay more as Diesel to cost less

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has announced marginal price changes to the cost of fuel for the next one month.

The cost of Super Petrol has gone up by Ksh 1.81 per litre to retail at Ksh 96.01 in Nairobi.

The cost of Diesel has, however, gone down by Ksh 2.99 per litre to retail at Ksh 84.23 in Nairobi while Kerosene will retail at Ksh 63.44 after a Ksh 0.12 drop per litre.

The change is attributed to the variance in the cost of the landed cost during the month.

The import cost of petrol was up by 5.22 percent while diesel was down 2.51% percent per tonne.

The review comes a time policy makers have been calling for changes to the pricing formula to eliminate the price transmission lag in a bid to benefit consumers.
