The late retired President Daniel Arap Moi will be interred at his Kabarak home on Wednesday.

Kenyans in their numbers started streaming at his home as early as 3.00a.m. while a good number of them had arrived the previous night at 12.am, braving the overnight chill.

Even before the gates were opened at 5.00a.m, a huge crowd was already at the gates, waiting to stream in for their part in the historic send off.

At 6.00a.m a majority of the  tents which had been erected for the public were almost full, with a majority seated patiently waiting for the commencement of the day’s activities.

Over 30,000 Kenyans are expected to attend the funeral although only a paltry 500 will be allowed by the graveside.

Moi’s body was expected to land at his Kabarak home by 7.30a.m having left the Lee Funeral home some minutes before 7.00a.m for the Wilson Airport.
