Former U.S. President Barack Obama is on his way to Kogelo.

He arrived at the Kisumu International Airport at around 8.30pm where he was received by Kisumu Governor Anynang’ Nyong’o.

The former American Head of State is expected to have a private breakfast with his grandmother Mama Sarah Obama.

Security has been beefed up at the home with residents and journalists having limited access.

Obama will spend a few hours with his grandmother before he heads to Sauti Kuu Foundation to open the sports centre.

The facility that is about 800 metres from his ancestral home is run by his sister Dr. Sarah Obama.
