A popular eatery in Kisumu’s bus park area is counting losses after suspected Gor Mahia fans gathered there for lunch only to leave behind a trail of destruction.

The rowdy fans were reportedly irked by a vehicle that was delivering supplies to the hotel and which they claim blocked the entrance.

They then turned violent and started breaking plates, bottles and tables while reportedly terrorising the hotel staff.

According to Pauline Akwacha, the proprietor of Kakwacha Restaurant, two of her staff were injured during the melee and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Akwacha said she suffered losses since most people who were having lunch at the establishment left in the ensuing chaos without paying their bills.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu OCS Boniface Mutie said investigations into the matter were underway.

The havoc at the restaurant occurred before a premier league match in Kisumu pitting Gor Mahia against Mathare United which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Gor Mahia was then crowned the 2018 premier league champions.
