Photos: Top musicians eulogise the late Bruce Odhiambo
- Mr. Odhiambo succumbed to cardiac ailments on Tuesday Morning while receiving treatment and the Nairobi Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
- Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja also described him as one of the pioneers of local music in the country.
Kenyan musicians on Thursday recounted how the late Bruce Odhiambo was a pillar, a producer who was ahead of his time and one who could quickly spot talent.
Every one of them who took to the podium at Nairobi Baptist Church told of experiences with the late Bruce Odhiambo that forever shaped their music career.
He was fondly remembered for having brought together some of the country’s finest bands such as Five Alive and Kayamba Africa.
From Eric Wainaina to Sauti Sol, Mercy Myra, Talia Oyando, Suzanne Gachukia and even Amos n Josh, supporting homegrown talent was the top producer’s greatest fete.
Also present at the funeral service was First lady Margaret Kenyatta and Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.
The late Bruce Odhiambo will be laid to rest at his Koru home in Kisumu County on Saturday, January 19.
