PNU sued over sale of assets after Jubilee merger

The National Rainbow Coalition Kenya (Narc – Kenya) has moved to court seeking orders to block the Party of National Unity (PNU) from selling its assets.

In a certificate of urgency, Narc Kenya Secretary General, Dr. Ambrose Nzomo, says the PNU Secretary General published a notice calling for a meeting of the Governing Council on October 28 claiming that the intention of the said meeting is to dissolve  and wind up the party  that may contravene the provisions of Section 48 (1) of the Political Partied Act, 2012.

“Narc Kenya is a fully registered political party and through its coalition partner, PNU, Narc Kenya is eligible and qualified to various shares of monies from the political parties fund,” Nzomo argues.

Narc Kenya says that PNU have kept all its benefit including monies adding that the said decision is unjust and discriminatory.

PNU was formed in 2007 by an alliance of seven political parties and Narc Kenya is among them.

IEBC, Registrar of Political Parties, PNU and the Attorney General have been named as respondents in the case.
