Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin faces impeachment threats

Over 10 Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Pokot West County have declared war against Governor Simon Kachapin if he does not show transparency in his management of the county.

Speaking after a closed door meeting, the MCA’s allege that Mr. Kachapin is plunging the entire Pokot region into a dire position by the rate at which corruption is taking place within the county under his watch.

Led by Thomas Ngolesya, Josphene Cheprum and Wilson Takaramoi, the MCA’s  accused the governor of sacking the most performing County Executives and allegedly leaving the most corrupt and under-performing ones.

They added that they had fronted to the Governor to ensure that the Executive of Culture and Sports, Agriculture and Education as well as the one for ICT to step aside and pave way for investigations over corruption allegations, an advice they say the Governor ignored.
