Police arrest 15 over suspected robbery during anti-IEBC march

Police have now denied the use of force to disperse protesters in Monday’s anti-IEBC protest led by opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU Secretary General Nick Salat.

They have further denied reports on social media indicating that a car belonging to one of the CORD leaders was shot at insisting that they only used teargas to restore normalcy in the city.

In a statement to the media, police further confirmed to have arrested 15 people whom they say were found robbing from members of the public and vandalizing property.

The County Commander, Japheth Koome, has urged all members of the public who were robbed to report to the Central police station.

This comes just hours after CORD leaders and supporters engaged police in running battles amid protests for their push for the removal of office of the electoral board IEBC boss and commissioners.

Scores are reported to have been injured and property destroyed.
