Police Arrest 34 Aliens In Kapenguria

The aliens, who include 21 women and 13 men with 32 of them being Somalis and two Ethiopians, are being held at the Kapenguria Police Station.

The aliens are reported to have been travelling in a Dayah Company Bus and were arrested following a tip off from members of the public.

West Pokot Senior CID officer Shadrack Juma said the foreigners were suspected to be escaping after the Garissa University attack that left 148 people died and several others injured.

Juma added that the aliens had no legal identification documents but had a pass from Kakuma Refugee camp adding that it was an offense for them to be outside the camp without authority.

The officer added that after cross examination, the aliens were found to be in the country without any valid documents to prove their stay in Kenya.

The police boss further urged residents to pass any information to the authorities should they suspect strangers in their areas.
