Police arrest man who bit off wifes lip and ear

Police have arrested a man who is accused of biting off his wife’s lower lip and left ear following a domestic row at their home in Nambale, Busia County.

Area OCPD Robert Ndambiri said the suspect, Pascal Omusungu, who had gone into hiding after the incident was arrested on Tuesday morning cutting sugarcane at a farm close to his home where the incident took place.

According to the OCPD, the 51-year-old man was nabbed by police acting on a tip off from members of the public.

The suspect was detained at Nambale Police Station and is expected to be presented in court on Wednesday.

Omusungu is said to have attacked his 39-year-old Jackline Kerubo, after she gave a neighbour vegetables from their farm, yet he had warned her not to do so.

Kerubo, who has been in the marriage for 21 years, said the husband pounced on her while in the kitchen; hit her on the head before biting off her lower lip and ear.

She sought treatment and Nambale Sub-county hospital.
