Police arrest murdered Hillcrest School headteacher’s husband

Police are holding the husband of slain Hillcrest Preparatory School head teacher Gabrielle Maina over her murder.

Cyrus Bernard Maina Njuguna was arrested at Karen Police Station, where he had gone to inquire on investigations to unravel the motive behind the killing of his wife.

The mother of two was shot and killed on Thursday (October 19) morning while on her way back from dropping her son at a friend’s house on Miotoni Road.

Autopsy results show that the single bullet was shot at close range and punctured Mrs. Maina’s lungs causing internal bleeding.

Hillcrest Board of Governors Chairperson Bob Kikuyu said the late headmistress was walking back to her house when the incident happened.

The Australian teacher had been in the country since September 2015.
