Police Boss Joins Kavuludi Commission

Boinett took oath of office as a member of NPSC  before the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Anne Atieno Amadi at the Supreme Court.

Boinett will now join the Johnstone Kavuludi led commission that has been tasked to reform the police force.

The Inspector General took oath of office last week before Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga.

SECURITY THREATS

Boinett comes into office at a time when the country is facing security threats internally and externally from the Al Shabaab and other terrorist militants.

He takes over from David Kimaiyo who retired from the post late last year following a spate of attacks on Kenyans in different parts of the country.

Boinett is a career policeman and served in the defunct National Security and Intelligent Service (NSIS), now National Intelligence Service (NIS), which he joined in 1998.
