Police boss Joseph Boinnet knows Jacob Juma’s killers – Raila

The government has been blamed for the death of controversial businessman Jacob Juma.

Speaking during the requiem mass for Juma, Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga claimed that Inspector General of Police Jospeh Boinnet knows who Juma’s killers are.

“When we are being told that the matter is now being handled by the Director General of CID, the Inspector General has the impudence to demand that Moses Wetangula and Raila Odinga should go before him and write a statement, he can take that to the parrots and dogs. He knows very well who are the killers of Jacob Juma. This is a hit squad that is known.”

The CORD leader accused the police of doing little to unravel the truth behind the murder of the outspoken critic of the government.

“Since Juma was killed, no police officer has gone to his home yet he lives close to Karen Police Station. We may never know the truth about our friend’s killing; Kenya has a long history of unresolved murders,” said Raila.

“Juma was killed by this government. How can you ask the killers to investigate themselves?” posed former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.

“We want Juma’s killers brought to book here and now. We know there is a systematic plan to cover up the murder. We owe this country,” said Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

Juma was lauded as a man who always pushed for the truth.

“In losing Juma, our country has lost a public servant; he faced many struggles because of his belief in justice. This belief in justice and public service is what led Juma to reveal the rot in the Eurobond deal and other scandals. He knew that by revealing these ills, his life was in danger. He predicted his own death,” stated Raila.

“Kenyans, we must get out of our comfort zone and define the destiny of our nation. The fight against corruption will not end with the burial of my brother JJ,” said Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

The leaders are now asking the government to explain to Kenyans those behind Juma’s murder.

Juma was shot dead by unknown assailants on May 5th near Lenana School as he drove to his Karen residence. According to police reports, the businessman’s car had ten bullet holes.

According to post-mortem results, Juma was killed by two bullets.
