Police confiscate bhang worth Ksh250 thousand, arrest 2 suspects

Two suspects have been arrested and 205 rolls of bhang worth Ksh250, 000 were confiscated Friday evening at Kangeso in Rongo, Migori County.

The two suspects, 25-year-old Marwa Mwita and 20-year-old Gerald Saja were arrested by the police after members of the public gave a tip off to the police.

Confirming the incident, Rongo OCPD Kisaka Muganda said members of the public became suspicious after they spotted the two going to a house in the area while carrying a big pot on several occasions.

Muganda said the owner of the home, where the illegal bhang business was being done, managed to escape the police trap.

Police are still looking for the unnamed woman.

The two suspects are currently being held by the Rongo police waiting to be arraigned in court on Monday.

The police boss lauded the members of the public for their support in fighting narcotics, urging them to continue helping the police.
