Police gun down robber in Sotik
Police in Sotik, Bomet County have gunned down a middle-aged man who allegedly attempted to rob a supermarket at Sotik Trading Centre.
According to Sotik police boss Jonathan Ngala, the suspect refused to surrender after police officers cornered him at a supermarket where a shootout ensued.
The suspect was gunned down after attempted to hide in the supermarket’s store.
The police officers, however, had a rough time restraining an irate crowd that had gathered around the supermarket and were demanding to be given the body in order to set it ablaze.
Elsewhere, angry boda boda operators in Molo Town on Sunday staged demonstrations protesting the brutal killing of their colleague by unknown assailants in a foiled motorbike robbery.
The motorcycle operators barricaded the Molo-Mau Summit road and set ablaze a make-shift revenue collection office belonging to Molo sub-county before they were dispersed by a contingent of police officers.
