Police hold service over insecurity

Disciplined forces from South Nyanza on Sunday conducted a thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Homabay.

The officers drawn from the Kenya police, Administration Police, Kenya Prisons, Kenya Wildlife, Kenya Forest service and the National Youth Service (NYS) came together to pray for the country as it faces a myriad of security and terrorism challenges.

Led by Bishop Salesius Mugambi in charge of the Uniformed Discipline Services Chaplaincy and Zipora Wanja Waweru who represented the Inspector General, the officers marched through the streets of Homabay town in a convoy with a band playing gospel music.

They also held a requiem service for their fallen comrades who died in the line of duty as the Bishop blessed their tools of trade including teargas and shields.
