Police hunt for Kericho church thieves who ‘kidnapped’ watchman

Police in Kericho have launched a manhunt for armed thugs who broke into a church, stole various items before kidnapping a watchman.

According to the area administrator, the five suspects stole kitchenware including sufurias and cups from Chepkurbet AGC in Telanet location, Ainamoi sub county on Wednesday.

Chepkurbet sub location assistant chief Thomas Korir said the robbers then moved to a shop nearby and also stole items from there.

The owner of the shop reportedly attempted to repulse the robbers but they fought back using crude weapons forcing him to flee.

He said the Kericho church thieves were driving a Toyota Probox that had no number plate but police are optimisitc that they will catch up with them.
