Police in Eldoret kill a four-man gang in dramatic shootout

Police officers in Eldoret have gunned down four men believed to have been part of a dreaded gang terrorizing residents.

Citizen Digital understands that the officers who were involved in the operation had been trailing the gang for two months.

Johnstone Ipara, Uasin Gishu County police commander confirmed the incident saying the suspects had ignored an order to stop at a police road block, forcing officers to open fire.

The four were killed on the spot with the incidence causing a huge traffic snarl up along the busy Eldoret-Kitale highway.

Officers recovered from the scene; a Taurus pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition, two magazines and a pocket phone that the suspects were reportedly using to escape police roadblocks.

Witnesses say the four were planning to rob a hardware within Eldoret town before the incidence.
