Bhang worth Ksh.1.2M nabbed in Homa Bay

Police on Tuesday morning seized 660 rolls of bhang worth Ksh.1.2 million in Homa Bay County.

The bhang was being transported on a motorcycle along Nyalkinyi – Imbo road on the outskirts of Homa Bay Town.

Homa Bay County Administration Police Commander Michael Mutonyi said police officers acting on a tip off trailed the suspect but when he realised he was being followed, he abandoned the motorcycle and escaped on foot.

The officers then impounded the motorcycle and transferred the bhang which was packed in two sacks to Homa Bay Police Station.

The AP boss added that they have since launched a manhunt for the suspect who has reportedly gone into hiding since the incident.

He further appealed to members of the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect and others engaging in illegal business.
