Police in search of a suspected pedophile

Police have launched a manhunt for a suspected pedophile who is accused of defiling a four-year-old girl.

The suspect, known on Facebook as Mohammed Alfayo, stirred up anger among Kenyans on social media Monday, September 3 after he posted photos of himself and a girl, said to be in Standard Four, with whom he claimed to have had sexual intercourse with.

Kenyans on Twitter used the hash tag #ArrestMohammedAlfayo to express their indignation on the issue with pressure mounting on security officers to apprehend the suspect.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, September 4 Interior Cabinet Secretary, Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery, and Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, said that they had identified the suspect and have launched a manhunt for him.
