Police Intercept Bhang Worth Kshs 2.5M

The vehicle, a Toyota Fielder was intercepted as it ferried the bhang at Winyo Centre along Rongo-Homa Bay highway

The vehicle was found with the bhang after it was involved in accident in attempt to avoid the police dragnet.

Rongo OCPD Catherine Iringu said that the occupants of the vehicle had stopped to refill fuel at Rongo town when the officers on patrol pounced on them after noticing the overloaded vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle later sped off at alarming speed forcing the police officers to pursue it.

The vehicle however stalled after it was involved in an accident with an oncoming vehicle

The police boss added that the occupants of the vehicle managed to escape.

The vehicle is being held at Kamagambo police station.

She said that her officers were now alert to deal firmly with drug traffickers
