Police launch investigations into Sagana pub explosion
Police in Kirinyaga County have launched investigations into an explosion which occurred at a wines and spirits shop near the Sagana bus park Sunday night.
According to Kirinyaga County Police boss Rono Bunei, the shop owner had closed his business for three days despite it being a weekend, in a rather suspicious occurrence.
The business owner Anthony Muchiri and his friends Josephat Kamau, 28, were injured in the explosion and have been admitted at the Sagana Hospital.
Central regional CID boss Francis Njiru rushed to the scene from Nyeri offices.
Kirinyaga leaders including Senator Daniel Karaba, Kirinyaga Central MP Gachoki Gitari and Kariti MCA Joel Waguru arrived at the scene as bomb experts combed the area.
Bomb experts are still analysing the substance from the site to determine the cause of the explosion.
