Police launch manhunt for suspect accused of defiling his daughter

Police have launched a manhunt for a 54-year-old man who has been accused of defiling his 12-year-old daughter.

The man, from Kariobangi area in Igembi Central, is said to have committed the heinous act when his wife was at their Ngongoaka farm harvesting millet.

He is said to have given his daughter Sh40, threating to beat her up if she told anyone about what he had done.

Area Chief David Mutua confirmed the incident, stating that he was informed of the case by the girl’s teacher.

Mutua added that he took the victim to Nthambiro Hospital for treatment, where a doctor confirmed that the girl had been abused.

Efforts to arrest the suspect proved futile as he escaped after he caught wind of the police operation to arrest him.
