Police further recovered the chemical used to make the fake notes, one stone of bhang, illegal alcoholic drinks and yeast, allegedly used to make the liquor.

The suspect who is reported to have been ferrying these materials on a motorcycle is said to have hit a police vehicle while attempting to escape after police grew suspicious of him.

Speaking in Nchuri Police station, Tigania West OCPD Joshua Opiyo said that the illegal liquor was packed in plastic bottles, which are easily tampered with compared to glass bottles.

The bottles also weighed an illegal 205ml instead of the legal 250ml.

The notes were in 606 a thousand note denomination and 943 two hundred denomination note.

The suspect, who managed to escape arrest, is reported to have made away with 14 cartons of yeast.

Opiyo now says that police are tracking him down and are confident they will soon arrest him.

He further urged residents to work with the police, warning those who will interfere with police investigations of dire consequences.
