Police nab fuel tanker ferrying bhang worth Ksh.3.6M

Police on Monday evening intercepted a fuel tanker ferrying 1.5 tonnes of bhang in Mwariki area, Nakuru County.

Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu said the fuel tanker registration number KCM 922Y was found carrying 135 bales of the narcotics valued at Ksh.3.6 million.

According to police, the bhang is believed to have been from Wajir and was being ferried to an unknown destination.

The police commander said this was the biggest consignment to be nabbed in Nakuru County over the recent past.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and detained at the Nakuru Central Police Station Nakuru.

He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
