Police nab heroin, arrest 40 in Mombasa raids

Over 40 suspects were Sunday evening arrested and 53 sachets of heroin and bhang seized in some parts of Changamwe, Mombasa County after security agencies conducted a crackdown on drugs, in the area.

The crackdown comes barely a few days after president Uhuru Kenyatta declared war on drugs and ordered security agencies to join hands with all stake-holders and flush-out drug barons in the coast region.

Speaking to the media, Changamwe OCPD Joseph Muthee said the operation will continue and urged locals to assist police with information to help deal with the menace.

The police boss further confirmed that the suspects were arrested at Port-reitz in Chaani and Mikindani area in Changamwe Sub-County.
