Police Net Bhang Worth 8.5M In Karatina

Two suspects, a mother of two and a middle-aged man were arrested during the incident.

Police were acting on a tip off which enabled them to identify the house.

During the raid, the officers had to break their way into the house after the occupant refused to open the door claiming she was not the owner of the home.

Police say the bhang was packed into sacks ready for market.

Mathira Sub County Commissioner Khalif Abdi Ali confirmed the incident saying the bhang was most likely aimed for sale to university students in Karatina Town.

Students are a target market for many marijuana peddlers.

Further investigations into the incident continue.
