Police net bhang worth Ksh.1.2 million in Nakuru

Administration police officers in Nakuru have netted a consignment of bhang with an estimated street value of Ksh.1.2 million.

The officers from the special unit known as Administration Police Operation Intelligence intercepted a vehicle that was transporting the banned drug towards Mbaruk from Nakuru.

Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner Herman Shambi said that two occupants of a Toyota Fielder fled on foot after they were stopped by police.

He said that the occupants were using the old Nakuru-Nairobi highway in order to avoid a police road block mounted near Greensteds School.

Shambi said that drugs are to blame for the wave of unrest in schools adding that parents should offer proper advice to their children so that they do not consume drugs.

At the regional DCI offices in Nakuru, the bhang was displayed in the presence of senior police officers from the region.
